#LAWTAKE - AEW COLLISION 3/30/24

It’s Saturday night and Collision is bykeeee! What’s even wilder is next week they’re supposed to be airing after the NCAA tournament and WrestleMania 40 night one. That should be the most degenerate episode of this show yet but I am intrigued. For now, I give you all my Law Take for tonights showing..

  • Regardless of the lack of steady viewership, I believe the TNT Title needs to be a staple on TNT. This is a step in the right direction. Whether open or close, I’m here for an open challenge TNT Title match weekly. It’s basically what the title was groomed to do since the Cody era.

  • Copeland looks like he’s having a blast trying to shed the WWE-style and get in his Indy wrestler bag.

  • The crowd reaction for Matt Cardona’s appearance was better than some of the reactions the IWC’s favorites be getting. I really seen it!

  • Big surprise to see the DMK show up. Loved Ian on commentary making sure to remind people of Cardona’s history in and out of AEW, this isn’t a debut but a re-emergence.

  • This was a damn good opening match. No brainer. These are two former WWE vets that know how to pace themselves. Loved that this was a call back to Cope bringing Cardona/Ryder into WWE as an Edgehead.

  • Easily one of the best Spears Copeland has delivered ever.

  • I really don’t care for House of Black. At all. Every and any time they show up. Ministry of Darkness Job Squad.

  • Malachi Black is taking another pinfall if he does ever face Copeland for the TNT Title.

  • That knee Buddy Matthew’s have to Mark Briscoe was fucking painful looking.

  • “Is that a fan in the ring?” In regard to Eddie Kingston in the random jeans and tee rolling in the ring to even the odds against HoB, whether Nigel was being oblivious or not, is fucking funny.

  • We’re getting a six man tag at Dynasty between all six men. Thats.. random as shit. But hey at least HoB can get on a PPV and have the IWC not bitch about their absence.

  • Well would you look at that - a ROH plug! Eddie Kingston’s (potentially) last title defense as ROH Champion against Mark Briscoe.

  • The Acclaimed are spinning wheels like a mfer with or without BCG on deck. Jay White needs more and better. Trios title merging OTW.

  • FTR ending the Cinderella story of The Infantry was expected but the match was as solid as FTR match can get.

  • If FTR doesn’t end up winning this whole tournament I’ll be genuinely surprised. I don’t need Top Guys spinning wheel anymore (pause).

  • Kyle O’Reilly has returned to AEW dressed like a runaway Canadian teenager with no merchandise of his own & has beaten jobbers since. Yay. What a time.

  • Kyle O’Reilly said he didn’t want help from any of the Undisputed Dorks yet there they are to celebrate a win against a jobber. Easily, theeee coldest faction in AEW. What a downward spiral that group took after World’s End.

  • This will end up with KOR either challenging Roddy for the International Title… or joining the Undisputed Dorks. Whatever the case, that faction is Arctic levels of cold.

  • In a battle of Wills - Ospreay faces Hobbs Wednesday on Dynamite. A MOTY for Will Hobbs now loading. A nice change of pace of opponent for Ospreay. This is gonna be a banger.

  • Top Flight didnt stand a chance against the former Tag Champions Big Bill & Ricky Starks, or so I thought.

  • Ricky Starks really has had one of the most lackluster, underwhelming 2023’s quietly. Not his fault though. That MJF program feels like three years ago. Getting stuck in the Jerichoverse post-MJF did Ricky absolutely no good.

  • To my surprise, Top Flight won after a scary hitch to Ricky. He confirmed post match he’s fine and was just taking precautionary measures.

  • Based on the brackets right now, we’re entirely getting Bucks/FTR again at Dynasty.

  • How is Christopher Daniels still getting camera time? To even do what?

  • Been watching Lady Frost since the pandemic and she’s really making strides. I hope she sticks to one solid place in the next few months, NXT or TNA preferably.

  • Thunder Rosa is stacking up victories left and right until she has the inevitable showdown with Toni Storm at Dynasty presumably.

  • Toni Storm is coasting with this current title reign.

  • I’m not happy to see Swerve/Samoa Joe at Dynasty so soon but I’m content with AEW actually having a fully loaded card to promote this early in April.

  • In the main event of Collision, 2/4 of the BCC pairs with Shibata to take on… Lance Archer & The Righteous. The most non-crowd reactive group.

  • It’s crazy The Righteous were in contention for the ROH Tag Titles some months ago but once MJF shoved Vincent’s head up Dutch’s ass that was truly the end of this group.

  • Anytime Lance Archer is getting match time you can almost guarantee an L - it’s like a Pistons or a Wizards game.

  • Tonight was a night I actually would have rather Lance Archer & Co get a win OR have seen BCC face idk maybe the faction of the man that Danielson is feuding with… The Don Callis Family? This is the stuff that really pisses me off with AEW booking.

  • Can Ospreay and Danielson interact already??

  • Claudio is another guy spinning wheels. If the Trios titles don’t go to the BCC in the next few weeks I genuinely don’t know where Claudio ends up on the card for the next six months.

  • Shibata finally hits his PK finisher and gets a pinfall in AEW. Unexpected, but much needed for him to regain some type of credibility after the consistent losses on TV.

  • A strong 7.5/10 for this overall show. More advancements for the Tag Titles and Copeland’s TNT Title run was probably the highlight for me.
